How To Pick A Great Halloween Costume

Choosing a costume for Halloween every year can test your patience. You may be creating a costume for children, you may want to share a costume with your spouse or significant other, or there may be a costume prize in your sights. The key to having the best costume is to take time in advance of Halloween to plan and execute the costume. Costumes that are ready made are expensive, but they can also be homemade for a great bargain. The important thing is to come up with a creative idea and find a way to make it. For instance, honoring the Armed Forces with a costume is a great idea and, you will need to track down a few options. Consider finding items like uniforms, marine helmets, Marine communications devices, bags, canteens, and boots. Kids love feeling official in their military clothing and adults will feel as if they are paying homage to those who protect the country.

Another idea for a costume, is to go as something scary. This is the traditional option for Halloween. Since Halloween is a spooky holiday, costumes that scare people are great to dress up in. Some people also make their scary costumes gross to imitate the look and feel of a horror movie. This is fun for little boys especially who love the idea of gross, spooky stuff. Just be sure if you have young children that they are able to handle the costumes of scary older children.

Your next option for a great costume idea is to dress up as something cute, for example kids love puppies, kittens, bunnies, and other furry animals. It is great for younger children and grownups who will be around young kids. This may be just the solution for this year’s Halloween costume. These choices are often easy to make too. There are plenty of patterns at the craft store that require a little bit of sewing and plenty of faux fur. There are also less time-consuming ways to create these costumes and just by popping some tiny ears on your head, drawing on a few whiskers, and adding a tale to your backside, your costume will be complete.

Little girls will love costumes that allow them to dress up and be pretty. There are few little girls who are not thrilled by the idea of being a princess and a Halloween costume is a great chance for them to actually feel like a princess. Find a pretty dress, add some glitter, and a Halloween princess is born. Best of all, the costume can be recycled in the coming years. Little girls can be princesses, fairies, Tinkerbell, brides, and queens.

Lastly, get creative with inanimate objects. Some of the best costumes allow you to dress up as a thing instead of a character or superhero. If you are attending a party with friends, consider going as a tool box, a container of cookies, or a variety of furniture options.
