Looking Into The New PSP Go Features

The most recent incarnation of Sony's gaming portables is PSP Go, disclosed in the autumn of 2009 at the E3 expo. The PSP Go features are significantly improved on older machines in the line, and unite to supply aclassy and practical alternative to the popular line.

The first, and probably most talked about, of the PSP Go features to deviate from classic models is the absence of the UMD drive. Previous models have made use of this media avenue for both games and videos, but the PSP Go does away with it completely. In its place, Sony intend for all software for the PSP Go to be downloaded onto the 16 GB of built in memory. This bold move will be aided by the PS store, which is compiling amassive catalogue of titles and movies to be provided with the PSP Go features.

The previously mentioned 16 GB of memory is flash based, and can be maxed to 32 GB by the memory stick micro. This PSP Go feature delivers a huge stock of memory so gamers will not be stuck for room. The screen is a touch reduced since the PSP 3000, but presents a much more focussed picture at 480×272 pixels. Thecompact screen layer is slid upwards to bare the buttons and d-pad, which also offers an analogue stick as before.

The PSP Go keeps all of the basic features of its original, including wi-fi accessibility and connectivity to the PS store both on its own or through a PS3. Sony are endeavouring to make all prior UMDs available in the store, and game-players can also find 'Minis', a brand new set of less expensive titles from classic ranges like Megaman and Tetris.

And so that's a quick introduction to the PSP Go features. The machine retains the established feel and features of the original, whilst showcasing a fresh new design and inventive media capabilities. Sony have asserted that exclusively downloading titles is the dream for all computer games in the future, and so the PSP Go is leading the way for a fresh step in gaming history.
