Keep an Address Book to Manage Your Contacts

by Wendy Jackson

To collect the contact information about your friends and family is very practical. By doing this you will have much better access to this type of information when you want to make a call, send out a letter or Christmas cards, or you need to invite them to your birthday party or your son's marriage.

Having an address book is almost a necessity for everyone who has their own business. People who work from home have in most cases none of their business partners around them and it is useful to carry an address book when it is necessary to reach one of them

In an address book you are able to store the most common contact information about a person. This is the typical name, address and phone number. You can also store information like their email address, their cell phone number or the website they use for their business. An address book will also give you the abilities to store additional information about your contacts. This is a possibility you should take advantage of in building your relationship with your contacts.

Unlike the phone book or the yellow pages, an address book gives you the ability to only save the contact information that is important to you. Many will argue that an address book is not necessary when you have a phone book, but still it takes a lot of time to look up your friends in one of those. You will also need several phonebooks to keep in touch with friends from different places in the world.

The later years we have been blessed with a lot of electronic devices to store our contact information on. You have your cell phone and your Outlook account, as well as several website and applications to store information about who you know and who you need to bee in contact with. The problem with these is the risk of loosing information when your cell phone dies, or when your computer gets too old to load your data.

Address books with flower designs are very popular these days. You see them almost in every home you visit. I think that it is their beauty together with the practical use of them that make them still popular in our technological world.
