Quick Fix For The Unmountable Boot Volume Blue Screen Error

The 'Unmountable Boot Volume Blue Screen' is a pretty devastating experience particularly when it has appeared suddenly without any explainable reason. This can happen following an update or software/hardware installation. If this is the case it's highly likely that there is a fault with the registry key or device driver.

The first thing to do, if you suspect it's a driver problem, is to roll back the driver and see if the error comes up again. If this solves the issue, contact the manufacturer for an updated driver or visit their site. If you still get Blue Screen Error Codes, then take note of the error message and enter the error message into a search engine to see if you can find a fix.

Stop error messages are supposed to contain the cause of the problem, but unless you're a techie then it'll mean very little to you. And in most instances, even for a trained computer technician, the answer to the problem will still not be clear. A registry bloat is perhaps the commonest source for a host of PC issues, such as stop error codes, sluggishness, freezing and DLL error messages.

It doesn't take long for a computer's registry to fill up with registry entries. The registry is like the computer's librarian. It stores configuration of software, applications, hardware, system setup information, user profiles, preferences and a whole lot more. In addition it keeps track of everything that's been done on your computer including; installs, uninstalls, created files and documents, and even sites you've visited.

The installation of third party software, as well as incorrect software installation can add unwanted registries as well as duplicates. Quite quickly the registry folder gets overcrowded with these redundant entries, and begins to take a toll on the performance of your PC. Your computer may take longer to startup and slow down significantly.

Registry entries can become corrupted and damaged by spyware, viruses, Trojan horse, adware. If you're using email or Internet browsing you should absolutely have some form of security application installed to help guard your computer from viruses. Always check that your security software is active and that it's constantly updated. Windows firewall setting should automatically on, but check that this is the case for more protection.

Quite commonly a problem in the registry is the source for blue screen error messages. Your computer's OS might also be made unstable as a result, causing screen freezes and other problems. When a blue screen crash occurs any unsaved data may be damaged or lost. Cleaning your registry out of corrupt and useless registry entries is an effective way of speeding up your PC. However, you have to remember that anything changes that you do make in the Windows registry, can't be undone. Before you go ahead and make changes, save a copy of the original registry first, in case something goes wrong.

Making the wrong changes to the registry can cause irreversible damage to the OS. You may want to create backups of all your important files on your computer if you are going to attempt to edit the registry. But I wouldn't recommend doing anything to your computer if you don't feel comfortable or are unsure. It's best to get someone who's qualified or knows how to fix computers. On the other hand, a registry cleaner might also be able to do the job for you for much less.
