The Hewlett Packard LaserJet 8150dn Printer And Its Features In The Home Office

The HP LaserJet 8150dn printer and its capabilities are on full display whenever this monochrome printer is given full reign in a small or medium-sized business. In comparison to many other monochrome laser printers available out on the market, this particular Hewlett-Packard would probably be considered mid-priced and characteristic. It is a speedy printer with a lot of reliability, especially with the quality of the print as offered by the HP LaserJet 2420dn toner.

That print speed comes to the fore right away, with the 8150dn able to kick out product at a fast 32 pages per minute. For a business needing a workhorse network printer, it's hard to find many much better than this Hewlett-Packard model. It is able to juggle a number of different print jobs effortlessly and it has a decently fast processor to help it along.

As far as the media types the 8150dn is able to print on, the best word to describe its capabilities would be "versatile". That's because it can print out on an extremely large number of different paper sizes, as well as transparencies, envelopes and labels. It's a sure bet that this printer will be able to accommodate the needs of most any network workgroup or business.

Connectivity is carried out via means of Hewlett-Packard's bread-and-butter ports. One can expect to be able to hook up the printer either with the traditional parallel port or with a modern and up-to-date Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX printer port. Either will give the IT specialist responsible for hooking it to the network very little trouble, if any at all, in truth.

A particularly nice characteristic of the 8150dn is its print resolution capability, which comes in at a sterling 1,200 dpi. For a workhorse network printer like this Hewlett-Packard, getting 1,200 dpi for the price that one will pay is a bit surprising.  That might be because it is actually a fairly reasonably-priced machine when one considers not only print resolution, but an array of other features that it comes with.

From the time a print job is sent to the printer until the time the first page of the job emerges is only 17 seconds. This is a very low task-to-product benchmark, which is probably made possible by the efficient way the standard 250 MHz QED microprocessor works with the standard memory included. In other words, the printer will be able to handle the large number of jobs from across the network relatively easily.

Standard memory given to the printer by Hewlett-Packard comes in at 32 MB of RAM. This can be increased to 160 MB fairly easily, but make sure to check out the print needs of the network or workgroup before spending the money to upgrade the memory.  It’s fairly certain that the networks for which this printer is intended won't need a full 160 MB of RAM.

Taken altogether, there's a great deal to like about the HP LaserJet 8150dn printer and very little to find to dislike. It has a great deal of features and capability, and it's nicely priced at about $600 for a new model, though plenty of refurbished and used ones can be found for around $200. Make sure to grab one as soon as it's available because it tends to be snapped up fairly quickly, which is a testament to its versatility and capabilities along with its durability.

These capabilities are realized to the fullest with HP LaserJet 8150dn toner cartridge.  Page after page of exceptional prints are to be found with HP compatible toner and it’s not a surprise to the savvy owner that online laser toner expands your cost savings.
